(ATIKAMEKSHENG FIRST NATION, ON) One person was arrested and charged after a report of a possible impaired driver.
On August 31, 2024, at approximately 11:50 p.m., the Nipissing West Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a call for service about a possible impaired driver on Reserve Road, Atikameksheng First Nation.
Police located the vehicle and arrested the driver for impaired driving, then transported the driver to the OPP detachment for further testing.
As a result of the investigation, Robin NOOTCHTAI, 30 years-of-age, from Atikameksheng First Nation, was charged with, operation while impaired blood alcohol concentration (80 plus) and operation while impaired alcohol
The accused was release and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice on September 18, 2024, in Sudbury.
The driver was issued a 90-day Administrative Drivers Licence Suspension and the vehicle was impounded for seven days.
