(KENORA, ON) Police have arrested and charged two individuals after a traffic stop led to the seizure of a large quantity of fentanyl with a street value of approximately $400,000.
On September 2, 2024, as a result of an investigation led by the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Organized Crime Enforcement Bureau, with assistance from the OPP Kenora Community Street Crime Unit, OPP Kenora Detachment and Treaty Three Police Service, a traffic stop was conducted in Kenora.
The two occupants in the vehicle were arrested and charged with drug-related offences.
Jashanpreet SINGH, age 20 and Karanpreet SINGH, age 23 both of Brampton have been charged with the following offences under the Criminal Code and the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act:
Possession for the purpose of trafficking fentanyl
Possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000
The fentanyl seized is believed to have been destined for Kenora and the surrounding communities.
