(DRUMMOND-NORTH ELMSLEY TWP, ON) The Lanark County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged a Smiths Falls resident with impaired driving after a single-vehicle collision on Highway 43.
Lanark officers and Lanark County Paramedics responded to the crash, near Pine Avenue. Just before 8:00 p.m. last night (September 5, 2024).
There were no serious injuries reported, although at least one individual was transported to hospital as a precaution.
One driver was arrested and was transported to the OPP detachment for testing.
As a result of the investigation, Stephanie EVANS, age 34, has been charged with:
Operation while impaired alcohol
Operation while impaired blood alcohol concentration (80 plus).
The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Perth on October 21, 2024.
The individuals drivers licence has been suspended for 90 days (Administrative Drivers Licence Suspension) and vehicle has been impounded for seven days.
