(ESSEX, ON) On August 27, 2024, at approximately 11:04 p.m., a member of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Essex Detachment was on patrol and conducted a traffic stop for a Highway Traffic Act offence on County Road 50 West in the community of Colchester in the Town of Essex.
As a result of the investigation, three individuals were taken into custody without incident. Police seized a quantity of illicit drugs including suspected fentanyl and cocaine.
Marc MIREAULT, 43-year-old of Amherstburg, has been arrested and charged with the following:
· Obstruct Peace Officer S.129(a) CC
· Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of Trafficking Cocaine S.5(2) CDSA
· Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of Trafficking Methamphetamine S.5(2) CDSA
· Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of Trafficking-Opioid (other than heroin) S.5(2) CDSA
The accused has been released from police custody and is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice Windsor at a later date.
Emma HANSON, 26-year-old of Amherstburg, has been arrested and charged with the following:
· Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of Trafficking Cocaine S.5(2) CDSA
· Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of Trafficking Methamphetamine S.5(2) CDSA
· Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of Trafficking-Opioid (other than heroin) S.5(2) CDSA
The accused has been released from police custody and is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice Windsor at a later date.
Nicole GUERARD, 44-year-old of Harrow, has been arrested and charged with the following:
· Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of Trafficking Cocaine S.5(2) CDSA
· Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of Trafficking Methamphetamine S.5(2) CDSA
· Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of Trafficking-Opioid (other than heroin) S.5(2) CDSA
The accused has been released from police custody and is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice Windsor at a later date.
