(LOYALIST TOWNSHIP, ON) Five people face charges after the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) seized drugs from a residence in Loyalist Township.
On September 12, 2024, the East Region Community Street Crime Unit (CSCU), assisted by members of the Lennox and Addington (L&A) County detachment, executed a search warrant at an address on Main Street in Odessa.
A quantity of suspected cocaine was seized, along with paraphernalia associated with drug trafficking, and multiple cell phones.
A quantity of suspected fentanyl was later found concealed on one of the accused after being transported to detachment.
Joshua GJELSTAD, age 35, of Napanee, Amanda HOLLAND, age 44, of Odessa, James MCMAHON, age 63, of Napanee, Shayna HIDDLESTON, age 40, of Centre Hastings and Corean EATMON, age 53, of Tyendinaga First Nation were arrested and charged with possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking cocaine.
GJELSTAD was additionally charged with:
Possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking opioid (other than heroin)
Fail to comply with probation order
HOLLAND was additionally charged with possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking opioid (other than heroin) two counts.
These two accused were held in custody pending a bail hearing.
The remaining three accused were released from custody and are scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Greater Napanee at a later date.
