(NORFOLK COUNTY, ON) An individual was charged following a break-and-enter investigation in Simcoe.
At approximately 4:55 a.m. on Saturday, September 14, 2024, officers from the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Norfolk County Detachment responded to a 9-1-1 call reporting a break-and-enter in progress on Sheridan Boulevard in Simcoe, Norfolk County.
It was determined that an individual had unlawfully entered a residence on the property and fled on foot after being confronted by the homeowners. No items were reported missing or stolen from the residence.
Just before 7:00 a.m., patrolling officers located an individual matching the suspects description at an address on Oakwood Avenue in Simcoe, Norfolk County. The individual was taken into custody without incident.
Charged with the following alleged offences is 45-year-old Mark DA SILVA of Norfolk County:
Unlawfully in dwelling house,
Trespassing at night,
Fail to comply with Probation Order.
The accused is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Simcoe on Tuesday, October 15, 2024.
