(QUINTE WEST, ON) Three Quinte West residents face charges after a drug trafficking investigation
The investigation began earlier this summer and on Thursday, September 19, 2024, the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) East Region Community Street Crime Unit, OPP Tactics and Rescue Unit, Emergency Response Team and Canine Unit executed a warrant on Scott Street in the City of Quinte West.
Investigators located and seized over 140 grams of cocaine, and about 130 pills including Oxycocet, morphine, hydromorphone and Lorazepam. Officers also seized cash and three weapons including a shotgun, a replica handgun and a Crossbow. Other drug paraphernalia and ammunition was also seized as part of the investigation.
Frederick TAYLOR, age 35 of Quinte West, has been charged with:
Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking cocaine
Possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime under $5000
Possession of firearm or ammunition contrary to prohibition order two counts
Unauthorized possession of a firearm
Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking-opioid five counts
Possession of a Schedule IV substance for the purpose of trafficking
Fail to comply with probation order
This accused was held for bail and will appear before the Ontario Court of Justice Belleville.
Jessica SAGRIFF, age 36 and Miranda-Lin VIAU, age 35, both of Quinte West, have each been charged with:
Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking cocaine
Possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime under $5000
Unauthorized possession of a firearm
Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking-Opioid five counts
Possession of a Schedule IV substance for the Purpose of Trafficking
These two accused were released from custody and are scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice Belleville at a later date.
