(NEW LISKEARD, ON) – Four people were located deceased in a structure fire downtown New Liskeard.

On September 19, 2024, at approximately 5:30 p.m., the Temiskaming Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) and the Temiskaming Shores Fire Department responded to a structure fire on Paget Street South in New Liskeard. Four people were located deceased in the residence.



The investigation is continuing with the assistance of the Temiskaming OPP Crime Unit, OPP Forensic Identification Services (FIS), the Office of the Fire Marshal (OFM), and the Office of the Chief Coroner for Ontario and the Ontario Forensic Pathology Services (OCCO-OFPS).

While the investigation is still in the preliminary stages, police believe there is no risk to the public at this time. Members of the community can expect to see an increased presence of OPP personnel and vehicles in the area as the investigation continues.
