(ORILLIA, ON) The Orillia Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has arrested and charged one individual with numerous child luring and other child related sexual offences.
On September 19, 2024, the Orillia OPP received information regarding a historical sexual assault and child luring incident. Police were advised in that 2021, the accused was offering alcohol to a youth in exchange for explicit images. At the time, the accused was an Aquatic Supervisor at a recreation centre in Orillia.
On September 23, 2024, with the assistance of the Child Sexual Exploitation Unit, members of the Orillia OPP executed a search warrant at a residence in the City of Orillia.
As a result of this investigation, Manuel MARROQUINN-RAMIREZ, 43-year-old from Orillia, has been charged with:
Luring a Person Under 18 years of age by means of Telecommunication three counts
Communicate with anyone for the purpose of obtaining sexual services
Sexual Exploitation
Sexual Assault
Possession of Child Pornography
Selling or distributing to an individual under 19 years of age
Knowingly supplying liquor to person under 19 years
The accused was held in custody, pending a bail hearing.
