(CHIPPEWAS OF THE THAMES FIRST NATION, ON) Individual facing charges after incident in Chippewas of the Thames First Nation.
On September 22, 2024, at approximately 4:26 p.m., members of the Chippewas of the Thames Police, Oneida Nation Police and Middlesex County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), were dispatched to an address on Chippewa Road in Chippewas of the Thames First Nation for the report of a disturbance.
Investigation revealed the accused threatened two known individuals with a weapon before fleeing a residence on foot.
Police located the accused at a residence not far from the scene, at which time they were taken into custody.
As a result, Roland STURGEON, a 26-year-old of Chippewas of the Thames First Nation, has been charged under the criminal code with:
Robbery with violence
Assault with A Weapon
Uttering Threats Cause death or Bodily Harm
The accused was held for bail.
There were no injuries reported.
