(BROCKTON, ON) On September 26, 2024, at approximately 1:19 a.m., the South Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were conducting a Reduce Impaired Driving Everywhere (RIDE) program on Bruce Road 15.
During the operation, a vehicle fled from the area. The driver was identified by police and arrested at a later time.
As a result of the investigation, Brailin HAYS, 18-years-old from Kincardine, has been charged with the following offences:
Flight from peace officer, CC 320.17
Dangerous Operation, CC 320.13(1)
Refusal to comply with demand, CC 320.15(1)
Operate motor vehicle without insurance, CAIA 2(1)(a)
The accused was held for a bail hearing and later released from custody. The accused is set to appear at the Walkerton Court of Justice on October 23, 2024.
