(LATCHFORD, ON) A traffic complaint in Latchford led to the arrest of one person for driving while impaired.
On September 30, 2024, at approximately 10:48 a.m., the Temiskaming Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) and the Ministry of Transportation Ontario (MTO) responded to a traffic complaint involving a southbound Commercial Motor Vehicle (CMV) that was all over the road on Highway 11 in Latchford.
The CMV was located and through investigation, officers determined that the driver had been consuming an alcoholic beverage. The driver was arrested and transported to the Temiskaming OPP Detachment for further testing.
As a result of the investigation, Ravinder RAI, 45 years-of-age of Brampton, was charged with:
Operation while impaired alcohol
Operation while impaired blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)
The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear before the Haileybury Ontario Court of Justice on October 29, 2024. They were issued a 90-day Administrative Drivers Licence Suspension (ADLS), and their CMV was impounded for 7 days.
