(MATTAWA, ON) A Mattawa resident is facing criminal charges related to stolen property.
On October 2, 2024, the North Bay Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Community Street Crime Unit (CSCU), investigated an occurrence involving several stolen items located on a property associated to the accused.
A search of a property on Highway 533 in Mattawan Township, led to the seizure of a stolen 2012 Tracer Ultralight Travel Trailer, a 2021 Can Am UTV, a 700-watt generator, a compound bow, a crossbow, and a second generator.
As a result of the investigation, Shawn MILLER, 51-years-of-age, from Mattawa was charged with:
Possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000 in Canada (two counts)
Possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000 in Canada (two counts)
Fail to comply with release order
Fail to comply with probation order
Possession of a firearm contrary to Prohibition Order
Possession of a Schedule I Substance Cocaine
The accused appeared before the Ontario Court of Justice Bail Court in North Bay on October 2, 2024, and was remanded into custody.
