(OXFORD COUNTY, ON) – Police located and arrested an impaired driver while on patrol in Norwich Township.

On Saturday October 19, 2024, at approximately 11:30 p.m., members of the Oxford detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were on general patrol in Norwich Township when they encountered an impaired driver on Mall Road.

Jason MCLEOD, a 45 years-of-age resident of Guelph-Eramosa Township, was charged with the following charges:



· Drive While Under Suspension

· Operation While Prohibited (two counts)

· Operation While Impaired

· Operation While Impaired -Blood Alcohol Concentration (80 plus)

The accused has been released and is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice located in Woodstock on December 2, 2024.

The OPP remind motorists that no amount of alcohol or drug is acceptable to consume and drive. Report impaired drivers. Should you observe a suspected impaired driver, please dial 911 or contact the Ontario Provincial Police at 1-888-310-1122 or *677.
