(SIOUX LOOKOUT, ON) – Members of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Sioux Lookout Detachment and the Sioux Lookout Crime Unit have arrested and charged three people in relation to a deliberately set fire at a local apartment complex.
At around 10:30 pm on Friday, October 25, 2024, members of the Sioux Lookout OPP responded to a report of a fire at an apartment complex on Millar Crescent. Quick reactions by a neighbour had extinguished the fire, but extensive smoke and water damage displaced individuals from approximately 17 units in the building.
Following police investigation, three people have been arrested and charged in relation to this incident.
Daniel BOIS Jr., 32 years old from North Caribou Lake First Nation, has been arrested and charged with:
Arson – Damage to Property
Arson – Disregard for Human Life
Break And Enter, and
Mischief over $5000
Leon RAE, 27 years old, from North Spirit Lake First Nation, has been arrested and charged with:
Arson – Damage to Property
Arson – Disregard for Human Life
Break and Enter a Place – three counts
Disguise with Intent
Common Nuisance – Endanger Life, and
Mischief Over $5000
Max RAE, 23 years old, from North Spirit Lake First Nation, has been charged with
Arson – Damage to Property
Arson – Disregard for Human Life
Break And Enter – two counts
Common Nuisance – Endanger Life
Disguise with Intent, and
Mischief over $5000
All three accused have been remanded to custody and will next appear in front of the Ontario Court of Justice Kenora Regional Bail Court on Monday, October 28, 2024.
