(SUDBURY, ON) Police arrested and charged two people of theft, after a report of an abandoned camping trailer.
On November 9, 2024, at approximately 8:12 a.m., the Nipissing West (Sudbury) Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to an abandon camper trailer parked at a turn around on Highway 17, near Fairbanks Lake Road, Sudbury.
While investigating the trailer which had been reported stolen, a motorist advised police of a parked pickup truck on Fairbanks Lake Road, attempting to flag down motorist.
Police located the parked vehicle with items in the back of the pickup truck, which had been reported stolen from the abandon camper trailer. Both the driver and the passenger were arrested for possession of stolen property and the driver was also found to be impaired.
A search of the vehicle, located stolen property and drugs suspected to be Fentanyl
Both the driver and the passenger were transported to the OPP detachment and further testing was conducted with the driver for impairment.
As a result of the investigation, the driver Noah MOTHERSELL, 26 years-of-age, from Mount Forest was charged with:
Operation while impaired drugs
Operation while prohibited under the Criminal Code
Possession property obtained by crime under $5,000
Use plate not authorized for vehicle
Possession of a schedule I substance
Possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking
The accuse was held for Bail Court, then remanded back into custody and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice on November 13, 2024, in Sudbury.
The passenger, Nichola SOULLIERE, 43-years-of-age, from Chelmsford was charged with:
Conditional Sentence Order breach
Possession property obtained by crime under $5,000
Fail to comply with Probation Order
The accuse was held for Bail Court, then released and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice on December 12, 2024, in Sudbury.
