(ADDINGTON HIGHLANDS, ON) The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) East Region Community Street Crime Unit has recovered multiple stolen vehicles in Addington Highlands.
Members of the Lennox and Addington County OPP called in the street crime unit when it was learned that suspected stolen items were being stored on a persons property in the Flinton area.
A search of the location on Tuesday, November 12, 2024, by Street Crime Unit members and officers from the L&A County and Central Hastings Detachments, resulted in the recovery of a stolen 2009 Volkswagen Golf and two stolen snowmobiles. An individual was found hiding in the residence and arrested without incident. A second person was escorted off the property and warned that returning would be considered trespassing.
Matthew FRENCH, age 33 of Addington Highlands, has been charged with:
Possession of property obtained by crime-over $5000 two counts
Possession of property obtained by crime-under $5000
Fail to comply with a probation order
The accused was held in custody and was scheduled to appear for a bail hearing before the Ontario Court of Justice in Napanee on November 13, 2024.
The owner of the residence had no connection to the stolen vehicles.
