(ALLISTON, ON) The Nottawasaga Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged 2 males for several drug related offences in the Town of New Tecumseth.
On November 14, at approximately 10:00 p.m. members of the Nottawasaga OPP, conducted a traffic stop on a passenger vehicle with an obstructed rear plate on Young Street.
The investigation revealed that two individuals, Darryl BERDAN 40 years old from Alliston, and Jason HOFFARTH, 41 years old from Alliston were in possession of a schedule 1 substance.
As a result of this investigation, both residents from Alliston are facing the following charges contrary to the Criminal Code and the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act.
Darryl BERDAN 40-years-old:
· Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of Trafficking Cocaine
· Fail to Comply with Probation Order 3 counts
· Possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime under $5000 in Canada
· Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of Trafficking Methamphetamine
Jason HOFFARTH, 41-years-old:
· Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of Trafficking Cocaine
· Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of Trafficking Methamphetamine
Both accused parties were held for a bail hearing and appeared before the Ontario Court of Justice in Bradford on November 14, 2024, and released on a release order.
