(COCHRANE, ON) The execution of a search warrant in Cochrane has resulted in the arrest of two individuals and the recovery of stolen property and a firearm.
On November 13, 2024, at approximately 10:00 a.m., the James Bay Community Street Crime Unit (CSCU) with the assistance of James Bay Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) and the James Bay Crime Unit, executed a search warrant at a residence on Concession Road 8&9 in Cochrane.
During the investigation, two individuals were arrested, and police seized stolen property and a firearm.
As a result of this investigation, Steven BOUCHARD, 24 years-of-age of Cochrane was charged with:
Possession of property obtained by crime under $5000
Mischief renders property useless
Further, a 14-year-old person from Cochrane was charged with:
Possession of property obtained by crime under $5000
Mischief renders property useless
Fail to comply with sentence
Both accused individuals were released from a bail hearing and are scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Cochrane in December. The name of the youth cannot be released under the provisions of the Youth Criminal Justice Act (YCJA).
