(SHELBURNE, ON) Members of the Dufferin Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged a Shelburne resident with impaired operation related offences as the result of a R.I.D.E. program.
On November 18, 2024, at approximately 11:15 p.m., Dufferin OPP officers were conducting a RIDE (Reduce Impaired Driving Everywhere) spot check in the area of Victoria Street in the Town of Shelburne. A vehicle entered the area and was met by the officers. After a brief conversation, the officers were quickly led to an impaired driving investigation.
Cameron YOUNG, a 41-year-old male, from Shelburne has been charged with:
Failure or refusal to comply with demand
Fail to surrender insurance card
Fail to surrender permit for motor vehicle
Possess unmarked cigarettes
The accused individual is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Orangeville. Their drivers licence was suspended 90 days, and their vehicle impounded for 7 days.
