(KILLALOE, ON.) The Upper Ottawa Valley (UOV) Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged a driver with several offences after a traffic stop.
On November 29, 2024, just after 9:30 a.m., a UOV OPP officer, on patrol on Algonquins of Pikwakanagan First Nation, stopped a vehicle for a traffic violation. During the stop the driver was arrested after it was determined they were a prohibited from driving.
Daniel SARAZIN, 62 years old, of Pikwakanagan was charged with:
Operating a motor vehicle while prohibited
Possession of a schedule 1 substance
Resisting a peace officer.
The accused was also charged with multiple highway traffic offences
The vehicle was towed and impounded for 45 days. The accused was released and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Pembroke on January 15, 2025.
