(MANITOUWADGE, ON) The Manitouwadge Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has arrested and charged two people with drug related offences following the execution of a drug warrant.
On December 4, 2024, OPP members from the Marathon Community Street Crime Unit, North West Region Emergency Response Team, and the Canine Unit, executed a Controlled Drug and Substances warrant on a residence in Manitouwadge.
A search resulted in the seizure of prohibited firearms, replica style firearms, prohibited weapons and suspected crystal methamphetamine.
As a result of this investigation, Stephanie GREER, 31-years-old of Manitouwadge, ON has been arrested and charged with the following criminal offences:
Possession of an imitation weapon for a dangerous purpose two counts
Possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose seven counts
Possession of a prohibited device or ammunition for a dangerous purpose five counts
Careless storage of a firearm, weapon, or prohibited device seven counts
Possession of a prohibited firearm with ammunition
Unauthorized possession of a firearm
Possession of a schedule I substance
The accused was released from custody and will appear in the Ontario Court of Justice Manitouwadge on February 26, 2025.
Additionally, Christopher MCGILL, 35-years-old of Manitouwadge, ON has been arrested and charged with the following criminal offences:
Careless storage of a firearm, weapon, or prohibited device seven counts
Possession of an imitation weapon for a dangerous purpose three counts
Possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose ten counts
Possession of a prohibited firearm with ammunition
Possession of a prohibited device or ammunition for a dangerous purpose five counts
Possession of a schedule I substance
Possession of a firearm contrary to prohibition order
Unauthorized possession of a firearm
The accused was held in custody and appeared in the Ontario Court of Justice Thunder Bay Bail court on December 5, 2024.
