(SOUTH HURON, ON) The Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged a South Huron resident following an incident on Anne Street in the Town of Exeter, Municipality of South Huron.
On Thursday, January 02, 2025, just after 9:00 p.m., Huron OPP officers were patrolling in the Town of Exeter when they observed an individual setting off fireworks while walking on Anne Street. Police subsequently arrested the individual and located illegal weapons and drugs.
Matthew SANGSTER, 35 years of age from South Huron has been charged with the following offences:
Possession of a Prohibited Device or Ammunition (two counts),
Carry Concealed Prohibited Device or Ammunition (two counts),
Possession of Methamphetamine,
Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking,
Possession of Firearm or Ammunition contrary to Prohibition Order (two counts),
The accused was processed at the Huron OPP detachment and has been held for a bail hearing at the Ontario Court of Justice Goderich.
