(TOWN OF MINTO, ON) The Wellington County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged two more individuals in connection with a 2019 kidnapping and homicide investigation.
On March 12, 2019, the body of Jason BROWN, a 43-year-old of Kitchener, was located in the Oshawa area of Durham Region.
As a result of the investigation, two additional individuals were charged contrary to the Criminal Code.
Mathew DRUMOND, 38 years old of London, was charged with:
First degree murder, section 465(1)(c)
Conspiracy to commit indictable offence, section 235(1)
The accused will make their next court appearance at the Ontario Court of Justice in Guelph on February 3, 2025.
Jessica MARTIN, 35 years old of North Perth, was charged with:
First degree murder, section 235(1)
Kidnapping, section 279(1)(a)
Obstruct justice, section 139(1) three counts
Possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000, section 354(1)(a) two counts
The accused will make their next court appearance at the Ontario Court of Justice in Guelph on February 3, 2025.
Investigators have previously charged three other individuals in relation to this investigation.
The Wellington County OPP Crime Unit continues to investigate under the direction of the OPP Criminal Investigation Branch and with the assistance of the OPP Biker Enforcement Unit.
The Government of the Province of Ontario is offering a $50,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person(s) responsible for the death of Jason John BROWN.
