(KAPUSKASING, ON) A driver was arrested for impaired driving after arriving at the Kapuskasing Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) detachment.
On January 14, 2025, at approximately 7:00 p.m., an individual drove to the James Bay OPP detachment in Kapuskasing for an appointment. During their interaction with the individual, officers detected signs of alcohol consumption. The driver was subsequently arrested and subjected to further testing at the detachment.
As a result of the investigation, Clemence BRIERE, 53 years of age of Timmins, has been charged with:
· Operation while impaired alcohol
· Operation while impaired blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)
· Possession of a schedule III substance psilocybin
The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice on February 24, 2025, in Kapuskasing. In addition, the accused received a 90-day Administrative Drivers Licence Suspension (ADLS), and the vehicle was impounded for seven days.
