(NORFOLK COUNTY, ON) Police are investigating the circumstances of a fatal collision in Simcoe.
At approximately 9:37 a.m. on Friday, January 17, 2025, officers from the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Norfolk County Detachment, along with Norfolk County Paramedic Services, responded to a single-vehicle collision involving a sedan on St. Johns Road West in Simcoe, Norfolk County.
The driver, a 37-year-old resident of Norfolk County, sustained life-threatening injuries and was pronounced deceased at the scene.
Police have confirmed that the driver was the individual who had been reported missing the day before from an address on Brown Street in Port Dover, Norfolk County.
St. Johns Road West, between Norfolk Street South and Hillcrest Road South, is expected to remain closed for several hours as the investigation continues.
The West Region OPP Traffic Incident Management Enforcement (TIME) Team is assisting with the investigation and is asking anyone who was travelling on St. Johns Road West and witnessed the collision, or who has any relevant information, to contact Norfolk County OPP at 1-888-310-1122.
