(CLARENCE-ROCKLAND, ON) The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) East Region Community Street Crime Unit has laid numerous drug and weapon charges in Rockland.
A drug trafficking investigation resulted in a search warrant being executed on Thursday, January 16, 2025, at a residence on Laurier Street.
Officers from the Street Crime Unit and Russell County OPP Detachment seized quantities of suspected cocaine and suspected methamphetamine tablets. They also seized items typically associated with drug trafficking, as well as a conducted energy weapon (stun gun) and a machete. One person was arrested at the scene.
Luc DECARIE, age 50 of Rockland, has been charged with:
Possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose two counts
Possession of the proceeds of property obtained by crime-under $5000
Operation of a vehicle while prohibited under the Criminal Code two counts
Possession of a Schedule 1 substance for the purpose of trafficking
Possession of a Schedule 1 substance two counts
The accused was released from custody following a bail hearing before the Ontario Court of Justice in LOrignal and is scheduled to appear in court again on February 12, 2025.
