(NORFOLK COUNTY, ON) A traffic stop in Courtland resulted in charges for a prohibited driver.
At approximately 8:02 p.m. on Monday, January 27, 2025, an officer from the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Norfolk County Detachment initiated a traffic stop and investigation on Main Street of Courtland in Courtland, Norfolk County, after receiving a licence plate status alert from the police cruisers Automated Licence Plate Recognition (ALPR) system.
The investigation revealed that the driver was prohibited from driving. They were subsequently taken into custody without incident.
45-year-old Craig LAWSON from Norfolk County has been charged with the following alleged offences:
Operation while prohibited under the Criminal Code,
Drive motor vehicle, no currently validated permit.
The accused is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Simcoe on Tuesday, February 25, 2025.
