(Long Lake 58 First Nation, ON) An investigation led by the Greenstone Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Community Street Crime Unit (CSCU), with assistance from the Northwest Region Emergency Response Team (ERT) and the Greenstone OPP Detachment, has resulted in charges against one individual.
On February 5th, 2025, shortly after 1:00p.m., uniformed members executed a Controlled Drugs and Substances Act search warrant at a residence on Beaver Street in Long Lake 58 First Nation. The investigation resulted in the arrest of one individual and the seizure of a firearm and further evidence of drug trafficking.
As a result of the investigation, Kenneth FINLAYSON, 30-years-old of Long Lake 58 First Nation, has been arrested and charged with the following offences under the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act and the Criminal Code of Canada:
Traffick in Schedule I Substance Cocaine
Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm
Careless Storage of a Firearm, Weapon, Prohibited Device or Ammunition
The accused was remanded into custody and later released; they are scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Longlac on February 19, 2025.
