(MANITOWANING, ON) One person has been arrested and is facing charges after police received a report of a potential impaired driver.
On February 8, 2025, at approximately 1:00 a.m., the Manitoulin Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received a call reporting that a potentially intoxicated person left an establishment in Manitowaning, and that they drove off in a vehicle. Police located the vehicle shortly after, and the investigation resulted in the driver being arrested for impaired operation.
The driver, Michael BONDY, 36-years-old from Wikwemikong, was charged with:
Operation while impaired alcohol
Operation while impaired blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)
The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Gore Bay on March 11, 2025.
