(PEMBROKE, ON) A Saskatchewan resident is facing several charges, including assault and weapons offences, after an incident at a store in downtown Pembroke.
On February 8, 2025, at approximately 9:45 a.m. members of the Upper Ottawa Valley (UOV) Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to an assault with a weapon. The attacker had fled the scene, but police arrested an individual on a nearby street. Officers seized an edged weapon as part of the investigation.
Investigation found that a victim in the store had been assaulted with an edged weapon and sustained minor injuries. Three other victims in the area were threatened and one was also physically assaulted.
As a result of this incident 40-year-old Brett FLEURY of Saskatoon, Saskatchewan has been charged with the following Criminal Code (CC) offences:
Assault with a weapon
Assault two counts
Uttering threats to cause death or bodily harm four counts
The accused was held for a bail hearing and remains in custody until their next appearance on February 11, 2025, at the Ontario Court of Justice in Pembroke.
