(Huronia West, ON) Members from the Huronia West Major Crime and Community Street Crime Unit of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have seized a firearm, approximately 905 grams of illicit substances, and have charged four individuals.
On February 5, 2025, at approximately 9:36 a.m., officers began arresting individuals following a lengthy investigation, that began in October 2024. The investigation remains ongoing, and the following were charged:
Kamba TABAN, a 31-year-old of Innisfil, was charged with:
Possession of a Schedule I Substance for the purpose of Trafficking Cocaine
Possession of a Schedule I Substance for the purpose of Trafficking Cocaine
Possession of a Schedule I Substance for the purpose of Trafficking Opioid (other than heroin)
Knowledge of Unauthorized Possession of Firearm
Possession of Firearm or Ammunition contrary to Prohibition Order
Possession of Firearm or Ammunition contrary to Prohibition Order
Possession of Firearm or Ammunition contrary to Prohibition Order
Possession of Firearm or Ammunition contrary to Prohibition Order
Possession of a Prohibited Device or Ammunition
Careless Storage of a Firearm, weapon, Prohibited Device or Ammunition
Lianne Gervais, a 46-year-old of Springwater Township, was charged with:
Possession of a Schedule I Substance for the purpose of Trafficking Cocaine
Possession of a Schedule I Substance for the purpose of Trafficking Opioid (other than heroin)
Careless Storage of a Firearm, weapon, Prohibited Device or Ammunition
Unauthorized Possession of a prohibited or restricted firearm
Unauthorize Possession of a firearm
Gaston Abar, a 50-year-old of Springwater Township, was charged with:
Possession of a Schedule I Substance for the purpose of Trafficking Cocaine
Possession of a Schedule I Substance for the purpose of Trafficking Opioid (other than heroin)
Knowledge of Unauthorized Possession of Firearm
Possession of Firearm or Ammunition contrary to Prohibition Order
Possession of a Prohibited Device or Ammunition
Careless Storage of a Firearm, weapon, Prohibited Device or Ammunition
Hailey Boyle, a 27-year-old of Barrie, was charged with:
Possession of a Schedule I Substance for the purpose of Trafficking Cocaine
Kamba Taban and Gaston Abar were held for a bail hearing while the other two were released from custody on an Undertaking and will appear later in court.
