(LAURENTIAN HILLS, ON) A driver is facing Criminal Code (CC) charges after a two-vehicle collision in the Upper Ottawa Valley (UOV) Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Detachment area.
On February 9, 2025, at approximately 1:00 a.m., the UOV OPP responded to a two-vehicle collision on Highway 17 in Laurentian Hills. Investigation found that a westbound pickup truck sideswiped an eastbound tractor trailer near Meilleurs Road. The driver of the pickup truck sustained minor injuries. As part of the investigation a Roadside Screening Device was utilized, and the driver was transported to the detachment for further testing.
As a result of this incident 79-year-old Gordon STEWART of Laurentian Hills has been charged with the following CC offences:
Operation while impaired alcohol
Operation while impaired blood alcohol concentration 80mg plus
The accused had their drivers licence suspended for 90 days and their vehicle was towed and impounded for seven days. The accused was released and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Pembroke March 10, 2025.
