Assault charge after disturbance at church
A Fergus man faces assault and mischief charges following a disturbance Tuesday at a church in the north end of Guelph.
Police were called to the church just after noon. A member had attended and was angry at staff, pouring his coffee on a reception counter and smashing a potted plant. The man also picked up a salt storage box and threw that through the window.
A 44-year-old Fergus man was arrested at his home later in the afternoon and charged with assault with a weapon and mischief under $5,000. He will appear in court April 1.
