(PRINCE EDWARD COUNTY, ON) A vehicle discovered in ditch has resulted in a driver being charged with impaired operation.
On March 9, 2025, at approximately 12:00 a.m., members of the Prince Edward County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were dispatched to a single vehicle collision on Taft Road. Further investigation led to an Approved Screening Device being utilized, and the driver was arrested and transported to the detachment for further testing.
As a result of the investigation, Melanie BURLEY, age 44 from Caledon, was arrested and charged with:
Operation while impaired alcohol
Operation while impaired- blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)
The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice on March 26th, 2025. They also had their drivers license suspended for a period of 90 days and vehicle impounded for seven days.
