(PRINCE EDWARD COUNTY, ON) – An early morning RIDE program by members of the Prince Edward County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) resulted in two individuals being arrested and charged.



Officers were conducting a RIDE program on Highway 62 at County Road 3 at 1:00 a.m. on March 13, 2025. During the RIDE, officers observed a vehicle attempt to avoid the RIDE program. As a result, two individuals were arrested, and officers seized a quantity of suspected cocaine, other items typically associated with drug use and trafficking, and approximately $1600 in cash.



Anthony MARINI, age 20 from Trenton was charged with:



Possession of a schedule one substance
Possession of a schedule one substance for the purpose of trafficking
Drive vehicle with cannabis readily available
Niah BABCOCK, age 23 from Quinte West was charged with:

Possession of a schedule one substance
Possession of a schedule one substance for the purpose of trafficking
Both accused were released from custody and are scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice on April 2, 2025.
