(OXFORD COUNTY, ON) Two individuals are facing impaired driving related offences in Oxford County after two separate incidents that occurred on Saturday night.
On March 15, 2025, at approximately 7:30 p.m., a member of the Oxford detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) was on general patrol when they stopped a vehicle on Highway 59 in Norwich Township for concerning driving behaviour.
Benjamin Stevens, 49-years-old, of the City of Woodstock, has been charged with:
· Operation while Impaired Drugs
The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Woodstock on April 8, 2025.
On March 16, 2025, at approximately 4:30 a.m., members of the Oxford OPP were dispatched to a report of a single motor vehicle collision that occurred on Highway 401 in the Township of Southwest Oxford. Police attended and located the lone occupant of the vehicle.
Jaidon Blakeman, 22-years-old, of the City of Hamilton, has been charged with:
· Operation while Impaired Blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)
The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Woodstock on April 29, 2025.
Both accused received a 90-day Administrative Drivers License Suspension (ADLS) and a seven-day vehicle impoundment was initiated as per statute.
