(NEW TECUMSETH, ON) The Nottawasaga Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have arrested and charged an individual after a report of a shop lift in progress at a local LCBO.
On March 19, 2025, at 5:18 p.m. Officers from the Nottawasaga OPP detachment were dispatched to a report of a shoplift in progress at 22 Dunham Drive in Alliston. The complainant reported that loss prevention services had one male in their custody for attempting to shoplift whiskey from the store.
Officers arrived on scene and located the individual who had attempted to steal one bottle of Canadian Club Premium (1750 ml) $69.75 and one bottle of Alberta Premium Whiskey (1750 ml) $69.75 a total value of $139.90 was returned to the store.
Initially, the accused provided officers with a false identity and upon further investigation, officers were able to positively identify the accused individual.
As a result, 44-year-old Bryan SKIDMORE, of Southgate Township has been arrested and charged with:
· Theft Under $5000 shoplifting
· Obstruct Peace Officer
The accused has been released and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice located in Bradford on May 1 2025 to answer to the charges.
