(NORTH HURON, ON) Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged an individual following an incident that took place at a location on Josephine Street in the Town of Wingham, Township of North Huron on Wednesday March 19th, 2025.
Just after 10:20 p.m., police investigated damage that had been done to an OPP patrol vehicle which had been parked and unattended. Police located the suspect, who fled on foot and was arrested shortly after a brief struggle with police. Further investigation revealed that the suspect had also moved storm drain covers, creating a hazard for motorists and pedestrians.
Mason SITLER-PAYNE, 28 years of age of North Huron has been charged with:
Mischief Under $5,000,
Mischief obstructs, interrupts or interferes with the lawful use, enjoyment or operation of property,
Resist Peace Officer.
The accused was additionally charged with an offence under the Liquor Licence Control Act (LLCA).
The accused was processed and later released from custody with an appearance scheduled at the Ontario Court of Justice Goderich on April 28, 2025.
