(LAURENTIAN VALLEY TWP, ON) A single-vehicle collision on Fibreboard Drive in Laurentian Valley Township has resulted in multiple charges being laid against the driver.
The collision was reported to members of the Upper Ottawa Valley (UOV) Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) at approximately 6:20 a.m. on March 23, 2025. Officers found that the vehicle had been abandoned in the ditch. The driver, who was not injured, was located by police a short time later. As part of the investigation a Roadside Screening Device was utilized, and the driver was transported to the detachment for further testing.
As a result of this incident 34-year-old Kyle MARTIN of Pembroke is charged with the following Criminal Code (CC) and Highway Traffic Act (HTA) offences:
Operation while impaired alcohol
Operation while impaired blood alcohol concentration 80mg plus
Driving while under suspension
Fail to remain
Novice driver BAC above zero
Class G1 licence holder- unaccompanied by a qualified driver
The accused had their drivers licence suspended for 90 days and the vehicle was towed and impounded for seven days. The accused was released to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Pembroke on April 15, 2025.
