(PEMBROKE, ON) A Laurentian Valley Township resident is facing Criminal Code (CC) impaired driving charges after an incident in the Upper Ottawa Valley (UOV) Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Detachment area.
On the afternoon of March 21, 2025, members of the UOV OPP responded to a report of a possible impaired driver in the City of Pembroke. Police located the vehicle and driver on Pembroke Street West. As part of the investigation a Roadside Screening Device was utilized, and the driver was transported to the detachment where readings in excess of two and a half times the legal blood alcohol limit were obtained.
As a result of this incident 60-year-old Christine SCHULTZ has been charged with the following CC offences:
· Operation while impaired alcohol
· Operation while impaired blood alcohol concentration 80mg plus
The accused had their drivers licence suspended for 90 days and their vehicle was towed and impounded for seven days. The accused was released and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Pembroke on April 14, 2025.
