(SIOUX LOOKOUT, ON) The Sioux Lookout Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) is continuing to take impaired drivers off local roads
On April 11, 2025, shortly after 11:00 a.m., members of the Sioux Lookout Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a report of intoxicated unwanted parties at a local hotel. Officers attended and located one individual intoxicated in the drivers seat of the motor vehicle. Through the investigation, it was determined that the driver had been consuming alcohol, and an approved screening device (ASD) test was administered. The driver failed the test and was arrested and transported to the Sioux Lookout Detachment where additional breath testing was completed.
Katherine ALBANY, 47-years-old, from Thunder Bay, Ontario is charged criminally with:
· Operation while impaired alcohol and drugs
· Operation while impaired blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)
In addition to the charges, the driver was issued a 90-day license suspension, and the vehicle was impounded for seven days.
The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Kenora on June 3, 2025, to answer to the criminal charges.
