(Kingston, ON) A traffic complaint for a vehicle speeding and driving aggressively, has resulted in the arrest of the driver receiving several charges.
Just after 7:00 am on April 17, 2025, Frontenac OPP received multiple complaints from witnesses about a vehicle speeding westbound along the 401 highway near Kingston. A Frontenac OPP member located the vehicle passing Joyceville Road and confirmed the vehicle speed at 178 km/h on the highway, in a 100 km/h zone. The driver was arrested for stunt driving excessive speed.
During the arrest, the officer detected alcohol coming from the driver. An alcohol screening device (ASD) was used at the roadside, which resulted in the driver registering a FAIL on the device.
The operator of the vehicle was taken to the Kingston Police station for further breath testing.

Operation while impaired, blood alcohol concentration (80 plus).
Dangerous operation of a motor vehicle.
Drive motor vehicle perform stunt excessive speed.
The driver was released from custody and is to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Kingston, on May 13, 2025. They also had their drivers license suspended for 90 days and vehicle impounded for a period of 7 days.
