(ASPHODEL-NORWOOD TOWNSHIP, ON) Members of the Peterborough County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) recovered a stolen ATV and charged the individual caught operating it.
On Sunday April 20, 2025, a Peterborough County OPP officer was conducting general patrol on County Road 45 in the township of Asphodel-Norwood. The officer observed a four-wheel all terrain vehicle (ATV) approaching and attempted to stop the vehicle to speak with the driver. The driver of the ATV slowed as they came closer to the officer and then continued past regardless of the officers attempt to wave them down.
The officer while attempting to locate the ATV, was approached and provided information that led to the location of the driver who was inevitably arrested. During the investigation, it was determined that the ATV being operated was one that had been recently reported as stolen.
Jeremy RICHARDSON (age 44) of Keene, ON., was arrested and charged with:
Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Under $5,000
Flight from Peace Officer
Operation while Prohibited under the Criminal Code (two counts)
Fail to Comply with Probation Order
The accused was held for Bail to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Peterborough.
