(SOUTH STORMONT TOWNSHIP, ON) A scuba diver that went missing in the water off the Long Sault Parkway has been located deceased.
On April 23, 2025, at about 7:45 p.m., Stormont, Dundas & Glengarry (SD&G) OPP officers and South Stormont Fire Services responded to Loch 21, Long Sault Parkway for a missing diver. Four divers entered the water but only three resurfaced.
Additional resources were deployed to assist with the search efforts, including Akwesasne Mohawk Police Service, Hogansburg Akwesasne Volunteer Fire Department, Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) and St. Lawrence County Sheriffs Department.
On April 24, 2024, around 11:30 a.m., SD&G OPP, assisted by the OPP Underwater Search and Recovery Unit (USRU), located and recovered the body of the missing diver. He was pronounced deceased at the scene.
