(QUINTE WEST, ON) The Quinte West Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has laid charges following an incident involving a firearm in Trenton.
On May 19, 2025 at approximately 11:30 a.m., Officers with the Quinte West OPP and OPP Canine Unit responded to a report of an assault at a residence on Trenton Street, Quinte West. Police received information that an individual had entered a residence and assaulted the occupants brandishing a firearm. Only minor injuries were sustained in this incident.
An investigation conducted by Quinte West OPP and the Quinte West Criminal Investigation Unit (CIU) led to the arrest of a 29-year-old from Quinte West on May 23, 2025.
Austin LLOYD, 29-years-old, from Quinte West, has been charged with the following offences:
Pointing a Firearm x2
Unauthorized possession of a prohibited or restricted firearm
Assault with a Weapon x2
Uttering Threats Cause death or Bodily Harm x2
Failure to comply with undertaking
Fail to Comply with Probation Order
Possession of Weapon for dangerous Purpose
Carrying concealed weapon
Possession of Firearm or Ammunition contrary to Prohibition Order x2
Assault
The accused is being held in custody pending a bail hearing at the Ontario Court of Justice in Belleville.
