(TOWNSHIP OF CRAMAHE, ON) A Colborne resident is facing weapons-related charges after police responded to an incident on Telephone Road in the Township of Cramahe.
On July 28, 2025, shortly before 9:30 p.m., members of the Northumberland Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were called to a residence following a report of a dispute, with concerns that firearms may be involved.
Upon arrival, officers located several rifles and shotguns that were being stored in an unsafe manner.
As a result, Murray DAVEY (74) of Colborne, was taken into custody and charged with:
· Careless storage of firearm, weapon, prohibited device or ammunition six counts
The firearms and ammunition were seized. The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Cobourg in September.
