(ONEIDA NATION OF THE THAMES FIRST NATION, ON) Individual charged, officer assaulted as a result of a disturbance.
On September 20, 2025, at 3:17 a.m., members of the Middlesex County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were dispatched to an address on Elijah Road in Oneida Nation of the Thames First Nation for the report of a disturbance.
Officers arrived on scene and attempted to place an individual under arrest at which time the individual became resistant.
As a result, an OPP officer was assaulted.
Lydia ELIJAH-THOMAS, a 19-year-old of Oneida Nation of the Thames First Nation has been charged under the Criminal Code with:
Mischief destroys or damages property
Mischief renders property dangerous, useless, inoperative or ineffective
Uttering Threats Cause death or Bodily Harm
Assault a Peace Officer
The accused was held for bail.
The officer was not injured.
