(NORFOLK COUNTY, ON) An individual has been charged following an impaired driving investigation in Port Ryerse.
On Wednesday, September 24, 2025, at approximately 1:36 p.m., Norfolk County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officers were conducting a Reduce Impaired Driving Everywhere (RIDE) program on Front Road in Port Ryerse when they stopped a vehicle to assess the drivers sobriety.
As a result of the interaction, the driver was taken into custody without incident.
Charged with the following alleged offences is 26-year-old Jamey BARNES of Norfolk County:
Operation while impaired alcohol and drugs,
Drive vehicle or boat with cannabis readily available.
The accused is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Simcoe on Tuesday, October 7, 2025.
