(RIDEAU LAKES, ON) Members of the Leeds County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have arrested and charged an individual with serious offences, including attempt to commit murder on a child.
On Friday, September 26, 2025, shortly before 9:00 a.m., members of the Leeds County OPP, assisted by the Leeds County OPP Crime Unit, began an intimate partner violence and child abuse investigation.
As a result of the investigation, a 26-year-old was arrested and charged with the following Criminal Code offences:
Attempt to commit murder
Sexual assault on a person under 16 years of age cause bodily harm
Sexual interference
Forcible confinement two counts
Assault with a weapon two counts
Assault cause bodily harm choke, suffocate or strangle two counts
Assault two counts
Uttering threats cause death or bodily harm two counts
Intimidation use or threatens use of violence
The accused remains in custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Brockville at a later date.
